If you ask for a website

The form on the home page takes four things: your business name, the phone number you want customers to ring, your website or Facebook page if you have one, and an email address to send the link to. Those four, and the time you sent them, are stored in Cloudflare’s key-value store so I can build the site. Only I can read them, using a key held outside the website. They are deleted automatically after 30 days, and sooner if you ask — write to jace@snaplineweb.com and say so. They are never sold, never shared and never added to a mailing list, and nothing is charged at any point in that process.

One more thing the form stores

When you send that form, the site also writes a short anti-abuse record so the same sender cannot flood it. It is not your address: your address is put through a one-way calculation with a secret the store does not hold, so what is kept cannot be turned back into it or matched against anybody. It counts how many times that result has been seen in the current two-hour window, and it is deleted automatically after two hours. This paragraph exists because the list above said “those four, and the time you sent them” while the same request quietly created a fifth thing. An enumeration of what is stored has to be complete or it is not an enumeration.

What this site counts

Two things, and only as a running total: that a page was opened, and that somebody tapped a phone number. No cookies, no identifiers, no IP address, no browser, no referrer and nothing you typed. There is no way to work out from it who visited or what any one person did — it is a tally, not a record of you — which is why this site asks you to accept nothing.

If you become a client

We agree in writing where inquiries from your own site go, how long they are kept and who can read them. Customer details do not belong in site files or in version control.
